유어예는 AI 기반 이미지와 영상 작업을 통해 한국적 미감과 현대 기술의 교차 지점을 탐구한다. 색동과 오방색, 자개와 같은 전통 시각 언어를 바탕으로 감정과 기억, 시간의 층위를 동시대적 시각 언어로 재구성한다.
YuaYe explores the intersection of Korean aesthetics and contemporary technology through AI-generated images and video. Drawing from Saekdong, Obangsaek, and mother-of-pearl, her work reconfigures layers of emotion, memory, and temporality into a contemporary visual language.
본 작품은 록카쿠 아야코(Ayako Rokkaku)의 개인전 «Breathing with the Chaos»가 열린 토탈미술관에서 수집된 50일간(2025.12.04–2026.01.22)의 실제 기상 데이터를 창작의 재료로 삼았다. 전시 제목이 제안하는 ‘혼돈과 함께 숨 쉬기’라는 명제를 날씨—자연에서 가장 예측 불가능한 현상—와 직접 연결함으로써, 데이터가 단순한 수치가 아닌 살아 있는 숨결임을 시각화했다.
록카쿠는 손가락으로 물감을 직접 바르고, 사전 스케치 없이 즉흥적으로 작업하며, 혼돈 속에서 희망을 찾았다. 이 작품은 같은 방식으로 기상 데이터라는 혼돈을 손가락 회화의 언어로 번역하고, 그 50개의 순간들이 하나의 호흡으로 이어지는 영상을 만들었다.
데이터–이미지 매핑 구조
59개의 기상 변수 중 시각적 감각과 직결되는 4가지 핵심 변수를 선정하여 록카쿠의 회화 언어로 번역했다.
제작 과정 및 기술 스택
① 데이터 분석: Python을 활용해 기상청 데이터 59개 변수를 분석하고, 핵심 4개 변수를 추출해 시각적 파라미터로 변환했다.
② 이미지 생성: Midjourney를 통해 록카쿠 스타일의 핑거 페인팅 이미지를 생성했다. 날씨 데이터가 프롬프트의 색상, 터치, 습도, 발광 요소로 직접 번역되도록 구성했다.
③ 영상 생성: Kling AI(Image-to-Video)를 활용해 각 이미지를 5초 길이의 영상으로 변환했다. Motion 강도 2/10의 부드러운 전환을 통해 날씨 변화의 흐름을 표현했다.
④ 영상 편집: 통제할 수 없는 감각을 TouchDesigner를 통해 표현했다.

록카쿠의 원칙 / chaos.weather.breath에서의 구현
즉흥성(사전 스케치 없음)
→ 기상 데이터가 프롬프트를 즉흥적으로 생성했다. 작가의 사전 구성 없이 날씨가 이미지를 직접 결정하도록 했다.
촉각성(손가락 터치)
→ 풍속을 터치 강도로 직역했다. 0.8m/s의 고요한 날은 섬세한 손끝으로, 4.9m/s의 폭풍은 격렬한 밀기와 문지르기로 대응시켰다.
영속적 변형
→ 15개의 이미지가 Kling AI의 영상으로 이어지며 ‘완성되지 않는 변형’을 구현했다. 끝이 다시 시작으로 이어지는 구조를 만들었다.
혼돈 속의 희망
→ 영하 9.7도의 혹한과 폭풍을 모두 아름다운 색으로 변환했다. 가장 추운 데이터가 가장 아름다운 이미지가 되는 역설을 드러냈다.
작품이 말하는 것
날씨는 통제할 수 없었다. 데이터는 차가웠다. 그러나 chaos.weather.breath는 그 예측 불가능한 수치들이 얼마나 아름다운 색과 형태를 품고 있는지를 보여주었다. -9.7도의 가장 추운 날은 가장 결정적인 이미지가 되었고, 4.9m/s의 폭풍은 가장 역동적인 터치가 되었다. 록카쿠가 손가락으로 혼돈을 만지듯, 이 작품은 데이터로 혼돈을 다루었다. 50일의 서울 겨울 날씨가 하나의 숨결로 이어질 때, 그것이 바로 Breathing with the Chaos였다.
This work draws upon 50 days of real meteorological data (December 4, 2025 – January 22, 2026) collected at Total Museum during Ayako Rokkaku’s solo exhibition «Breathing with the Chaos» as its primary creative material. By directly linking the exhibition’s proposition—“breathing with chaos”—to weather, one of the most unpredictable phenomena in nature, the work visualizes data not as abstract numbers, but as a living breath.
Rokkaku’s practice is characterized by applying paint directly with her fingers, working without preliminary sketches, and discovering hope within chaos. In a similar manner, this work translates the chaos of weather data into the language of finger painting, composing a video in which 50 individual moments are connected into a single, continuous breath.

From 59 meteorological variables, four key variables closely related to visual perception were selected and translated into Rokkaku’s painterly language.
Production Process and Technical Stack

Using Python, 59 variables from meteorological data were analyzed, and four key variables were extracted and converted into visual parameters. - Image Generation
Images in the style of Rokkaku’s finger painting were generated using Midjourney. Weather data was directly translated into prompt parameters, including color, tactile quality, humidity, and luminosity. - Video Generation
Using Kling AI (image-to-video), each image was transformed into a 5-second video sequence. A low motion intensity (2/10) was applied to produce smooth transitions, reflecting the gradual flow of weather changes. - Video Editing
Uncontrollable sensory qualities were expressed through TouchDesigner, emphasizing the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the data.
Implementation of Rokkaku’s Principles
This work reinterprets Rokkaku’s artistic philosophy through a data–AI process:
- Spontaneity (no preliminary sketch)
→ Weather data generated prompts in real time, allowing images to be determined directly by environmental conditions without prior compositional planning. - Tactility (finger touch)
→ Wind speed was translated into touch intensity. A calm day at 0.8 m/s corresponds to delicate fingertip gestures, while a storm at 4.9 m/s translates into forceful pushing and rubbing movements. - Continuous Transformation
→ Fifteen images are connected through Kling AI video sequences, embodying an “unfinished transformation” in which endings loop back into beginnings. - Hope within Chaos
→ Extreme conditions, such as –9.7°C cold and storm events, were translated into vibrant and aesthetically rich colors, revealing the paradox that the harshest data can produce the most striking images.
What the Work Articulates
Weather is uncontrollable. Data is cold. Yet chaos.weather.breath reveals how these unpredictable numerical values contain unexpected beauty in color and form. The coldest day, at –9.7°C, becomes the most defining image, while a 4.9 m/s storm transforms into the most dynamic gesture. Just as Rokkaku engages chaos through her fingers, this work engages chaos through data. When 50 days of Seoul’s winter weather are connected into a single breath, it becomes Breathing with the Chaos.
